On a recent Saturday, we were in an area for a women’s meeting. More than 100 women from different house churches and prayer groups attended. It was a one-day meeting where the leader spoke about the importance of sharing our testimony and the Gospel to the people around us. It was a great blessing to see more and more women taking the initiative to reach the unreached people around them with the message of salvation and hope.
Baptizing New Disciples
The following day, on Sunday, we went to one of the house churches up in the mountains for a baptism service. There were around 150 people attending the Sunday service. These were people who have worshipped idols for generation after generation. They lived in darkness and under curses, but on this day the glorious Gospel reached them. As the Bible says “The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up” Matthew 4:16.
At the end of the service, 33 people received baptism. The believers were praising the Lord for every one of them because it was a great miracle.
Fulfilling the Great Commission
Today S* and her husband continue to lead the twenty-six house churches they planted in different mountain villages. (See Deliverance and Consecration for the complete story) They now have the help of nine local, native brothers who went through our training program. Together, they are reaching into many new villages with the message of the Gospel.
God not only had compassion on S*, He knew that He could use her to reach many more people with the Gospel. Think about your job and your daily routine. It may seem mundane, but ask yourself “How many people can I impact for the sake of the Gospel? How many people can I reach, just by living my life?”
It’s that simple. If each of us would reach out to those around us, just imagine what the impact could be! Jesus said “Go!” and He desires to confirm the message with signs and miracles. Allow God to challenge you to take that step of faith, with an expectation that He will back up His Word. Whether in India, or in America, pray that God will empower each one of us (including you!) to carry this message of Hope to every town, every city, and every state.
